A Woman

A woman is like a deep, plentiful ocean
With never ending love and sympathy
With a warmth that seeps into those around her
She is love

The gentle flow of her voice
Resounding as perfectly as a cello
Listening and understanding
She is harmony

With golden locks or chestnut tresses
Spreading happiness into hearts and souls
She never stops to think about herself
She is joy

Like a shining white dove she soars
Over mountains and her sister, the ocean
Calming storms and violent bodies
She is peace

Thinking of everyone but herself
Sometimes feeling alone in the world
Flowing, Flying, waving her magic wand of happiness
She is herself

Author notes

This is about my mum because she always thinks of others and I feel she should think of herself more. She is always there to listen and to talk to and she always settles arguments fairly even if she is disadvantaged by the outcome. I love her very much like I love the rest of my family.

Please tell me what you think

I hve just looked down, and I can't believe that this person was only able to put, 'thankyou for entering' after reading this beautiful piece! I am actually quite upset that she could not write more!

    OMG!

Wow! This is really beautiful and magical, Sarah. You have done a really great job with this, and I hope you show this to your mum, because she will be so proud and happy etc. I am actually almost crying because this is so beautiful, and I love the way you repeat 'she is...'. The flow in this is perfect, and you have just done such a good job here. I am amazed (not because you are normally rubbish or anything, but because this is so so good)!
Well done well done well done
