Cuckold

Adoration, smites with

fury, least the meek inherits
all;
To short the time of wooing,
where the eyes fall shy once
more;
In searching for a lover, gather
rose buds whilst you may, to be sure
the time is right love, lay you not
upon the hay;
So if all is true and worthy...
and a partner by your side, respect
your beating heart sir, and let it
be your guide;
If you heed not what it tells
you, then your own mistakes
are made, well kind sir you
should have seen it, as you really
have been ....played.

There is nobody wise enough
To find out all that is in it,

    Very beautiful and heartfelt... Thanks for sharing this with me. I can feel the metaphors and words that were written almost as if they were penned by the heart itself. Love always and best wishes to you! Keep writing and feeling, delving into your heart! x

    Great job on this! I can't say why, but it rather reminded my of the closing scene in "The Merchant Of Venice" (Its a compliment, that is my favorite play." Really good job anyways, your use of phrasing and word play was well done and much appreciated. Really great work anyways, i enjoyed it alot!

    Love the mix of the metaphysical and contemporary in this piece. The cliches are actaully well suited and leave the reader feeling as if modern observational pieces on love are quite dead yet. This should make for a better than fair contest entry, best wishes.

    Good luck in your future works.
