Beauty through the ages

Missing image
Not only is my grandma wise
she's so beautiful too;
her face reflects the secrets learned,
my thanks long overdue.

Her love for me I know darn well
has grown by leaps and bounds;
she's shared her knowledge with us all,
our love for her compounds.

Kind and gentle, caring as well
she's always there when called;
drops everything for grandchildren,
no wonder we're enthralled.

My grandpa's long been by her side
together forty years;
raised their children as best they could,
through happy times and tears.

I know one day they will depart
and we'll be left alone;
their memories and cheerful words,
will never be outgrown.

    A great reminder

    Sorry for reading and not responding earlier. I think the knowledge carriers are under approeciated and in this world of culture controlled youth is marginalising the older generation. Of course it is not the fault or the doing of the young. It is just good to be reminded of the importance of the old oaks.

    Yeeks!

    This one scared me! Me an mine will be married for 30 years on the 25th! You mean to tell me I only have another ten or so years left in me? LOL Seriously, I loved this because it does remind me of myself! Also my Grandma, but she was a widow. I loved her dearly though, my soft place to fall, I try to be my Grandkids soft place to fall too. Excellent, and I bet you are a wonderful Grandma aren't you?

    The purest of wisdom comes from those who've seen it all and lived it all without any regrets. And naturally that tradition is always passed down through the branches of the tree. Keep penning
