The Future is Bright

On any other day, today would be mighty right to say
That I’m just as proud of the way
She carries herself

Born of her father’s heart and she’s got just the part
Of that same heart that will take her farther
Than I could have ever gone

You see, in a day when children are causing more
Grief than relief
She’s working to make me proud to the point that I’ll say,
Out loud
That she’s the reason why the future is bright

A track star,
Far removed from the days when I’d do the same thing
Now she’s adding a swing to it
And making it work

Her first meet
She won the 200 and was 2nd in the 100

Success!!

But the true test
Was to be blessed in doing it again
And then
She did just that
That’s a fact
And added a long jump victory
To the mix, that’s right, no trick

And now after 3 events
There’s no more suspense
She’s a sprinter and a long jumper
And it’s no wonder why, with a gleam in a father’s eye,
That the future is very, very bright

    FANTABULOUS

I love this and I feel the love and admiration you have for your daughter. I am a daughter and I love it when my dad tells me how proud he is of me. ((MUAH))

    Great Tribute

Very well penned. I enjoy reading work about children, especially in a Positive manner.
A child's younger years are most important when time of a Father is around. Gr8, once again!

WOW..A good reason to be proud. My daughter wasnt that great in school but after graduation..did some college and served 6yrs in the US Navy. I could not be prouder.
My son has done well too.
You sound like a proud father and you should be.
I only wish her success in all her endeavors..
