I sit beneath our tree,
an old willow,
right by the river;
watching the water.
Care-free swirls.
I clutch the heart necklace,
placed around my neck by you,
my only love.
I remember,
fun times, love we shared,
how you said you'd never leave me;
words only-
it was out of our control.
When you disappeared from life,
claimed by death,
I died too;
inside.
I want to be with you,
eternally,
but I don't want to die-
thought of suicide makes me feel sick.
I can sense you in the air,
your spirit watching me-
haunting of a lover.
You kiss me through the wind,
a loving gesture
of our distant love.
I'll press on,
plowing through my sorrow,
I'll heal in time...
Won't I?
But for now,
I'll sit here alone,
everyday,
'til I get over you;
forever kissed by the wind...
