stone heart

A heart so cold

A mind so blank

And eyes so blind

Blood dripping from her hands

"what is life!" She cries

Blood draining from the cuts on her skin

A heart of stone could never break

Until now

Her mind lay confused

her stone heart in millions of peices

"WHY HIM, WHY NOW!"

the one she loved

the one that loved her

had finally given up and disappeared in the dark

He left her so cold

so alone

She finally lay still on her cold basement floor

the life she once knew gone from her hands

There is kind of a blank, cold cruelty lying beneath this poem, but it sets the tone for the piece. A line I really lIked was "A heart of stone could never break/Until Now" Great image.

Thank you for entering and good luck in the contest!

I feel the finality of it. The coldness, the cruelness that lay there in between the lines. Well done. Keep the ink flowing and good luck. Love and hugs...

Love must be tempered by hate. Misery with joy. Otherwise we wouldn't understand the true meaning of joy and love.
