I have been to the mountains of madness
They reside inside my mind
I have tasted the wine of self indulgence
Time after time after time
I have spoken in broken whispers
With the voices in my head
While they speak of holy wonders
They still fill me with their dread
I have chased the brilliant rainbow
I have hidden beneath it's cloak
I have climbed to the top of heaven
As it disappeared up in smoke
I have fallen further than I remember
When I crash I'm just a shell
For the misery around me
Is worse than any preacher's hell
For the pain I must endure each day
Is a master I'm always at his beck and call
I ignore it at my own peril
I'm lost within myself and all
For this world has no real meaning
When I'm flying through these dreams
But when I'm medicated to the eyeballs
They hide the silence and the screams
I have climbed the highest mountain
I have fallen further than the deepest hell
So if you were ask me which was better
I'd have to say I couldn't really tell...
