She bears the wisdom of her years,
lessons learned, some the hard way,
eyes filmed to milky white,
once smooth skin now wrinkled and loose,
hair once glossy black,
streaks of grey and white reside....
bright black eyes glow with intelligence,
feathers shine blue-black in the sun,
free to fly where the winds roam,
messengers with the words of the Gods,
passing their wisdom to humans.....
both are the root and tree,
the past and future of the tribe,
wisdom of age and the Gods,
where Man resides.

good description
powerful imagery
neat word use.
well now you just got the perfect poem going on here! -
Wow you have put such incredible imagery and description into this poem. You really captivate the reader and bring them into your words for more. This could go a variety of ways and could be described in a variety of ways and I think that is the best part of poetry like this. The figuring out of the meaning behind each poem. Very nicely done with this one! Cannot wait to read more of your work!

Makes me Experience Wonderment
This poem made me wonder whether the subject is a woman, a bird, a tree, or a bird/woman/tree.
I love the lines about the hair transforming from solid black to streaked with gray. I also love the line "bright black eyes glow with intelligence." There are some golden bits in this piece. -
Wonderful...!!!!!!
Excellent work! I would say it takes great wisdom to let your imagination fly so you can write about a crow gathering wisdom over the years. Maybe it came easily to you, but this poem is a result of hard work, I should say! Too good. The linking of the bird with the Supreme Power and then the journey back to Earth ... is simply superb. Well done. Good luck and God bless -
Great. Good job. I love this part :both are the root and tree,
the past and future of the tribe,
wisdom of age and the Gods,
where Man resides.
Good luck in the contest!!

EXCELLENT AND HEART FELT
Yes both are the root and the tree for you cant have one without the other . And the wisdom passed down through time from one to another keeps the wind under the eagles wings to sore another day

Your mentionings of 'roots and trees' reminds me of an excerpt from 'What if a Much of a Which of a Wind' by E.E Cummings : 'Whose roots are trees , it's they who shall cry hello'. nice to see how you achieve a state of coalescence in our poem by stating that wisdom in looking at life as a whole . A work of patience and experience . Nice job .

I know, seems a little repetitive to hear that everyone loves the same part, but you... have created a wonderful ending within a poem that has touched me so hard. A little siomplicity can go a long way.
You did an awesome job!
Well done.
