Questions

I turn and face a door,
I've never seen before,
I feel a sense of sudden burden,
The things I'll be accountable for.

I hear a voice,
On the other side of that door,
Are all the answers,
That I've been waiting for.

An endless amount of knowledge,
All the pleasure in the world,
All the things I will discover,
As my mind becomes twirled.

I find that through the door,
I won't find my way back here,
I think about the sacrifice,
I think about the lives this will interfere.

If I take all the answers,
Trade in my life,
Take what isn't mine,
For them to live with the strife.

I can't leave the love,
But I can't leave the answers,
And I can't ask any questions.

I will choose what I know,
I will choose what I love best,
I will choose the questions,
And leave all the rest.

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. I'm trusting you've read the rules, have only entered once, and have 0-5 trophies.

Your poem doesn't flow all that well, because the rhyming seems a bit forced. However, I do like the story you've shown through this one. I wouldn't want to know every answer in life, either. Where would the fun be? Everything would suddenly seem rather dull. Nice idea.

Good luck to you in my contest.
