[ That night the stars changed. ]

That night the stars changed.
I looked for comfort and all I found
was a blanketing emptiness
where you should have been.

Nervously
hands twitch
longing to hold you
defying the end.

The moonlight blinds my gaze
I wrap my arms around myself
But I cannot break the reality.

Hypnotized
With the weight of the earth on my shoulders
Suddenly, unexpectedly
It's over.

Reminded how to love
with your head comfortably on my chest.
Now the stars mean nothing to you
Falling asleep on my own now feels
so lonely.
