You don't have to knock me over,

Peg, Thank you so much for your touching words here. I'm very sorry that you know of it first hand, I have seen it and it's not a pretty sight. My biological father, God rest his soul was an alcoholic and abusive to my mom. Always when he would drink, otherwise he was such a loving soul. I still picture my older sisters pulling him off of my mom and I was too young to help. No spouse should ever have to go through this. I asked that I be allowed to participate because Viyanna was looking for personal experiences. It is good that there are shelters for battered women and their children if need be.
