Dare I ask?
Do I delve deep inside
And face the truth?
Is it even possible
To capture me in verse?
How can so few words describe
All that is within me
Will I lose myself
In the limitations
Barred by language
Caged by the lines
Only time will tell….
So who am I?
I am the girl so afraid
Of hurt
Of failure
Of letting you down most of all
Who am I?
I am the girl who worries
About school
About work
About you most of all
Who am I?
I am the girl so obsessed
With coffee
With sweets
With her God most of all
Who am I?
I am the girl so confused
By life
By people
By herself most of all
Who am I?
I am the girl who struggles
With her secret
With trust
With herself most of all
Who am I?
I am the girl still learning
About the world
About you
About me most of all
So who am I?
Am I lost in the translation
From the heart
To these words?
Or clearer a picture do you see?
These few words may not capture
All I truly am
But may they provide the opening
To all you need to know
Who am I?
Dare you ask?
