Warrior Heart

Missing image

for you
the dragon lies in wait
steely eyes ever watchful
for those who would hurt you
their entrails to rip
from their wretched carcasses...

for you
the dragon lays in wait
claws and wings ready
to chase those who would
take advantage of you
leaving them singed
and sorry...

for those spoilers
who give you comfort
without nourishment
encouraging plasticity
where spirit is called for
the dragon's warrior heart
sings to you of the peril...

as the light
of selfless love
illuminates the
scope of the tower
and the distance to
the ground...

"encouraging plasticity" -excellent line. It's nice to think that such dragons exist for those who need their protection. The imagery evoked in this poem runs deep and beautiful, cheers, good write

Thank you Allan, this poem has a much deeper meaning than the casual reader will discern. I know exactly what you mean and I love you so very much for it. I think sometimes the dragon raises his guard when danger is not necessarily present but the fact that the dragon is alert makes me feel secure. I love you.

    Love,
    Amera

Danger can come in many forms... the most dangerous thing to the soul is complacency... you would not see it as a danger, but it is the worst, because it is comfortable and cozy, even as it is insidious and cancerous... we all need someone to watch over us for that.
