THE BELL DID TOLL
The eyes of many will not see.
This mind that is lost in darkness
and
filled with an all consuming loneliness.
A mind filled with terrifying demons-
This mind.... lost.
The bell did toll on that April morn.
Thirty-three times it did ring...
Ringing out a dirge for all to hear-
We raised our heads not knowing why
Fear and anguish spread its wings
and
the shadow of death
road the currents of the wild wind,
The blood spilled upon the ground
and
the darkened earth did weep.
For there was no mercy
No place to hide.
An angel looked down upon this scene-
dipped his wings
and
carried each soul to a better place.
We bow our heads
Saying a silent prayer for the many who have
lost their lives.
A prayer-
The day
The bell did toll thirty-three times.

Lost for Words
It is so sad to think that there are so many people out there who feels so lost, yet they carry on with their lives day after day and blend in with the rest of the crowd. Then, one beautiful day something snaps in them and this kind of tragedy occurs. It is saddening to hear or read about things like the VA Tech and Columbine massacres. Just troubles my heart. This was beautifully penned, and it touched my soul. We must look to God and each other for comfort through times like these. God will help us through them all. This was simply heartwrenching to read. Keep on penning my friend.

To be honest I am surprised these things don't happen a lot more often than they do. It seems the only time the world wants to focus on a problem is "after the fact".
There were signs but as usual they went unheeded. The only thing everyone is searching for is a little love and understanding, just someone who will listen and yet every single time these things happen they always say the same thing...No one knows WHY this happened. It happened because everyone has a stretching point and once that is hit it doesn't matter what your beliefs are for you are no longer thinking through a rational mind. Instead of understanding that it is our reactions that cause the problems we blame others. It is unfortunate that in most of these incidents those hurt have nothing to do with the person doing the act for they see the whole world as the target once they reach that "point of no return".
The media just loves this stuff, watch them zoom in
on the faces of those crying. True to their motto...
If it bleeds, it leads. I hate to say it but I think
we will see much more of this stuff in the future,
because for many it's only about becoming known and the odds are more people can name the person who killed
say Abe Lincoln that who was the vice president after him.
The quickest way to fame is through outlandish acts and one only needs to see what shows hits are currently running to see reality tv plays a big part in the
problems that exist. It's the bitch or loud mouth
that they focus on, or the manipulating person
and what we watch ultimately will mold who we are
and where society ends up in the end.
Lets hope that some lesson can come out of this
so that it doesn't have to happen again, and again,
and again...until they get the point that the core issues need to be changed and not say blaming guns
for instance. For if the teacher or a couple students would have had guns he might not have got as far as he did. Let us remember it was an off duty officer with a gun who keep that mall shooting in Salt Lake City here a while back from becoming a HUGE massacre too.
In order to achieve peace we need to start looking at our similarities instead of our differences. For therein lies the crux of many of the worlds problems.
Hugs...Eddy
