I thought I could drink your love away
But it seems your love is here to stay
Locked deep within my heart
Locked away you take the key
I'll put the bottle down when you return
Until then I'll keep drowning my sorrows, whilst tears turn
Turn my face to the shade of crimson, Your love is what I yearn
No I'm not drunk, well not drunk enough to get over you
You're the only person with the key to my heart
You're playiing with my heart, just like you did at the start
It's ok I'll put the bottle down when you unlock my heart
For your love is the true key, your love is what I need
Without the love of you, there is no me, come back is what I plee
The bottle is empty, just like my heart is empty will you fill it?

To be brutally honest this wasn't my type of poem. There seemed to be far too many overused words for me to truly appreciate it. Plus, there seemed to be a structured rhyme going on in places, and I asked for free verse. Nevertheless, thanks for entering.

Thank you for your brutality. I can't help the rhyming but I can try different in the future. I hope you find what you are looking for.
