Fairytale Guy

I could write a story about
Dragons,
Castles,
And kings,
But when I look into my dreams
Thats not what I see.
I see freedom
And love.
And so my story begins

He's better than a prince.
Better than a knight.
He'll treat me like a princess
Even though I'm not royalty.
He'll rescue me
Even though I'm not locked in a tower.
He'll kiss me
Even though I'm not in a deep sleep.

I long to be with him
But something stands in my way
They overpower
They always win
My sun does not shine
I'm lost in the wind
Because my fairytale guy
Is not allowed in

They don't approve
And the things the don't like
I can't even change
They're things that make him, him
And there things that don't make sense,
They don't make sense to me
And they don't make sense to him

It's not a mighty dragon
It's not an evil spell
But we will beat it somehow
We don't need magic wands
Or pixie dust
Love is stronger than any magic I know

I see sun peeking out
As I'm safely in his arms
I'll keep this secret
And I'll wait forever
For "happily ever after"
I don't know how
And I don't know when
But as my story comes to an end,
I do know is this is my dream,
My fairytale,
My fantasy.
