The prophet

The unholy hands of oppression
Smothered with hate,
become one with obsession

War breaks out
And a bath of blood washes your feet
Withstanding the kill and the smell of peat.

Unfair violence
Inartistic affairs
Enchanted heart ache
Destroying the rail.

Unholy prophet
Or senseless leader
Who do they follow?
A saint or a killer?

Restlessness in the hearts of the victims
Innocent lives discarded by the hands of the convicts;
no precense of reason
Who do they follow?
A saint or a killer?

In this night you will see,
the ‘promissory note’ will set us free
Oppression will fall
Obsession will fade
War ends now,
and violence will seize

Now we chant “Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty;
we are free at last.”

Author notes
