Emerging from the darkness
I see a glimmering of light
It brings with it a promise of a brighter future
A future free from pain and suffering
Escape from my earthly woes
A new beginning in a new land
A land where I can freely roam
And be at peace once more
Mental torment has held me captive
for many a year
But now I am free
Free to just be me
What a relief that will be
Thank you God for loving me
and making me see the world anew
released finally from these shackles
that were pulling me down further and further
The world can truly be a beautiful place
I see that now.

Beautiful write. There's nothing greater and more beautiful in life than a new outlook on the world and a person's surroundings. I think it's only when we see the real beauty of the world is when we can all be truly happy in life. Good luck in the contest.
