A Tinge of Me

a myriad of colors
cap my busy head.
colors here;
        thoughts there;
mixing somewhere in between,
into livid inspiration,
then, transcending upward
to the forgotten land.

with silently...
beating heart
squeezing gently at each
inconvenience:
to tragic blue,
        or tormented red,
even mottled green
-empathy hidden by
        apathy

to an artist's pallet
tickled
by the Creator's brush.
two colors mix
to form treasured child,
of paling traits
and saturated hues:
the perfect tone for
splattered canvas.

and brilliant colors
reveal candied humor
at every fade or blend,
with darkened spots
        (a bit unsavory,
        and unsightly)
not chaste but still
a favored shade.

it's all the tinge of me.

Author notes

Patent Pending is an awesome group

I have pink-ish, purply red hair. ^___^
I think too much, but am so forgetful.
I appear cold sometimes.
I don't like to see other's hurting though.
My family means so much to me.
I way too many things amusing, and my sense of humor can be a bit morbid at times, but it still makes for a happy life.
I'm wacky, brainy, sometimes zany.

Thanks for reading!

I agree with your statement about Patent Pending.
Your poetry is absolutely great. [Gah, I'm a push-over.]

    "to an artist's pallet

    of paling traits
    and saturated hues:

^That stanza blew me away. 'to form treasured child' is a different image. I was a little confused by it, but in a good 'This makes me think' kind of way.

Best of luck in your contest.

That stanza was meant to be simpler, for it's about my family ( I have a lot of nieces and nephews), but it's all up for interpretation. Thanks for reading.

P.S.- You being a push-over makes me feel good about myself though. An artist's ego?
