This was compelling to ask such inquiries but as far
as can be told, there were secrets that even I've longed
locked away like crumpled sheets of rough drafted paper,
and still managed to hold an unrecognizable smile
Beguiling isn't it? That all that was done -- no, provided,
I've yet to reconciliate with the very demons that encased
justly so within my cage.
Mentally, I am but a mere child in that displayed looking
glass, whose struggling to stay... afloat upon those unforgiving
tides; stranger nevertheless, life was but a journey not yet
realized. nor presented itself in a neatly bow-tied box
But then, those good memories fade in, letting this
unknown individual shine brighter than those slabs
of cement and gilded streetsigns
I'm myself...with a voice

Author notes
CONFESSIONAL POETRY
Refers to a type of narrative and lyric verse which deals with the facts and intimate mental and physical experiences of the poet's own life. In confessional poetry, the speaker often describes his confused chaotic state, which becomes a metaphor for the state of the world around him.

Loved the last line! There is so much of me that you pen here dear friend. The stanza that most touched my spirit was the first one. It lulled me into your thought process and held me hostage until the end. I too love this kind of poetry. I actually think I've been writing a lot of it lately and had no idea what the form was. Excellent! Thanks for the glimpse, no matter how vague.

Much Love ♥
