In their in own right
With prayers for recognition
And incantations.
They run away
Into the day
For reference of
Their own God
So help behold
This bounty soul
Of all your might
In existence
So was it a soldier?
Or a priest?
Who made Death order
The Seljuks?
They took the land that was holy!
Remember
The Seljuks!
Remember
The Seljuks!
They fought
For their God!
They fought
For their God!
They were attacked
From all sides
The unforgiving
Separatism of a land
So they stole
At their souls
and they wiped out
Their society
All they wanted
Was a peace
And to practice out
A soft religion!
Remember
The Seljuks!
Remember
The Seljuks!
They fought
For their God!
They fought
For their God!
We must call upon
The pride of our lives
Our beliefs
That our God is watching us
Remember The Seljuks
For they were put into a room
And destroyed! Destroyed!
Destroyed!
Our history will teach us so
Reason for war we must go
Fight after approval from
Our God!
The sons!
For they fight for more
To protect the national secrecy
And to be free from oppresion.
And of God
We will not speak of God
We will not speak of God
We will not speak of God
We will not speak of God!!
Remember
The Seljuks!
Remember
The Seljuks!
They fought
For their God!
They fought
For their God!
Author notes
This poem is in dedication to The Seljuks.
Who are The Seljuks?
Back in 1915 a war in the Middle East was taking place. It was a war against religion in a sense.
In Armeinia, nearly all the people were of a religious orient, decendants of The Seljuks. They were a religious group that had special beliefs in God. The other Middle Eastern nations and the Muslim nations did not agree with their ways, and therefore a war started.
Yet again this was a religious war.
The Seljuks were nearly wiped out in the Armenian Genocide, and those who survived were either forced to fight with the Muslims, convert, or be killed.
So why do I care about them?
I have some Seljuk blood in my family bloodline, so I felt it necessarry to give them praise.

i agree not on what u say
just read my author page then i answer why
it was the turks and kurds who decided on the ethnic cleansing of the ARMENIANS WHO WERE BY BLOOOD AND SOUL ARMENIANS NATIVE OR ARMENIAAAAAAA, WHICH WAS THE FIRST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WHERE CHIRSTIANITY WAS DECLARED AS THE ONLY RELIGION OF THE COUNTRY IN 301 AD.
if you got any problems or any clearification feel free to ask
i be happy to answer as for ur poem i didnt read
i read ur author notes it was enough for me to write this comment, though i got a lot more to say but i be satisfied with this.

Great write, the flow is perfect and the wording and word choice great. I agree it was a little repetitive but again for a good reason.
I liked the tribute to them it's very thoughtful. Overall this is a very good piece of work great job and good luck!!!!! -
this is a crazy poem. i like the flow of the piece and at times you exercise a wide vocabulary. a little repetitive, but no doubt that was on purpose to make some point right? good job overall i like it

Great job! I enjoyed breaking it up piece by piece, reading it slowly, and taking it the true meaning. Excellent write.

Its so nice to give tribute to those who fought for their beliefs...especially if they are part of our heritage. I liked this diiferent perspective of the family theme. Thanks for the entry!
