Echo of Adonai

 Echo of Adonai

When… When… When… When…
Will you realize I’m here
When… When… When…
When…
Will you know of my ebb

Why… Why… Why…
Why…
Have you suppressed me
Why… Why… Why… Why…
Don’t you hear to me

Know… Know… Know…
Know…
That I am within you
Know… Know… Know… Know…
That I am God

Well, you certainly found a creative way to convey the echo in this. As far as teh poem goes, it is very simple. Thank you for entering.

Had to check this out. Adonai is one of my favorite Hebrew names for God. Good questions. Simple. I love the answer at the end. Perfect.

Fantastic device here, what a great idea to utilize the shrinking font to strengthen the echo feeling. I almost worried the repeat would be overkill but I think the shrinking usage is what makes it unique and clever, rather than just overly repititive.

    Lovely spiritual write!

    Interesting!

What a cool way to show the echo effect with the fonts getting small. It's amazing how that affected the reading.

My favorite part was, "When will you know of my ebb." When the sea ebbs, it pulls away from the earth, much like an echo does as it faints. The sounds seems farther and farther away, more quiet with each repitition. I love the sounnd of that line, but it seems to contradict the idea of God being within you. If he is "within you" how can he "ebb" unless you mean only the sound of him. Just a thought.

The title is beautiful and you make a valid point that people often suppress the voice of God in their lives.

    Nice poem. Very cool idea.

This is lovely. The way you use repetition makes the tone very haunting and urgent yet also passive. Thanks for sharing this.

    The Still Small Voice!

Powerful! To say the least! It is like God speaking echoes within...The still small voice, or that powerful echoing voice that some of us have heard..It gets' our attention for sure..Here God is saying "Be still and know that I am God!" Trust me! I am in control! The faith as this little child in the picture and the face of Jesus so gentle and peaceful and loving! It all says enough...Your words niece bring it all together....Lovely, darling!
