Relativism

Missing image
There was a time
Not so long ago
Heroes would shine

We had family beside us
Love to hide us
Morals to guide us
Nothing to divide us

Lost in meter forever gone
Hidden by the dark
Are the days of the dawn

Will light shine as the day
Is the price to high to pay
Is Love so far away
Will courage rest and lay

There was a place
Not so far away
The base would find grace

Friends stood near us
Love abided in us
Truth spoke to us
Nothing frighted us

Lost to vacant herds
Hidden from our ears
Are the healing words

Will kids laugh and play
Is the melody a lost cliche
Is song unable to sway
Will hope be lost in essay

Yes, everything is relative and you have written a great poem. How things change as we age; what's important is no more, and what once nothing to us, now means so much. Easy to read and understand the sentiments you have expressed in these lines.

    fantastic

wow, just wow. Very strong and powerful, I had to read it twice and felt equally blown away both times. This was my favorite part:

    "Friends stood near us
    Love abided in us
    Truth spoke to us
    Nothing frighted us"

    Well written.

    Love Linzi
