Palest shade of nothing

Give me something
blackness
blue
an angry shade of red.
Anything but the
cold
and grey,
the numbness
that wont go away.

Show me perhaps
a green
or a brown
Mother's beauty,
the one that surrounds.

Why do you
continue to erase
my rainbow?
Don't you know?
I've worked so hard
to build this colour scheme.

Now it's back
to nothing
nothing
just a blank canvas.

I really hope you're pleased.

Intentionally thought invoking piece of art...

I loved the ending... as you carried on through the beginning, posing this pondering question...

An honest effort worthy of praise...

God bless and keep you, and paint your days of vivid colors of His pride in you...

Oh! This is really good. I don't even need to see the picture that inspired this. It's kind of a play with words, and I really like how you say "Why do you continue to erase my rainbow?"

"Why do you continue to erase my Rainbow?"

So many subjects tip off from this one line. I understand it, I feel it, from perhaps a totally different level. I "am" the Rainbow, my blood says so. . Won't delve too deep ~ but know I enjoyed this..

I like these lines. I know where you're coming from. Sometimes you'd even prefer to be angry than to the blank nothingness that is depression. I like the end, though it made me picture a little girl pouting and saying that...Weird...Thanks for sharing with the group.

this is an amazing write. I love the different approach you have used to write/express your feelings and describe what is going on in your life.I also love the style which you used, it adds to the meaning and power of the words.
    absolutley beautiful.
Remember, a blank canvas isnt always a bad thing, it means you can start the painting fresh.
    All the best

This amazing! I love the original way that you've used colours in the place of feelings, it works to great effect, and I like the associations of the colours, especially
    Show me perhaps
    a green
    or a brown
    Mother's beauty,
    the one that surrounds.
Well written, this is a poem to be proud of. Well done!

hmmm, i have had a couple run ins with people that just want to whipe you clean of all your passions and happy ness and just leave you with a gray page. leave you with the kind of lonely enxiety that makes you wish you were never born. i dont understand why some people do that. it makes me mad and frightend at the same time. i like the imagery that you have created here. i have not heard of rainbows being mentioned in quite some time. thank you for sharing your talent!

Thank you for your lovely comment and understanding. Some people love nothing more than to destroy the spirit that they've helped you create and this poem was aimed at that person. I only hope that it never has to happen to them as it's not the most wonderful of feelings.

      Peace & Love,
      Yassmin
