Raging Red

It's the colour of passion.
Sure it is the destination
For people who
Revel in coercion.
It's senseless perversion
That results in destruction.

Ours is a nation
That is known for compassion.
Now there is a reversion
Everywhere there is indignation.

There is no room for relation
As humans lack compunction.
We need renovation
Our minds need purgation.
This is the only solution
To regain our reputation.

    This is a very insightful write... and I agree, if the passions run amok and out of control, it can only lead to self-destruction on some level inevitably.Your first stanza expresses this so succinctly;

    "It's the colour of passion.
    Sure it is the destination
    For people who
    Revel in coercion.
    It's senseless perversion
    That results in destruction."

In the second stanza, I assume that you are referring to India. I read on your author's page that you live in India.

    "Ours is a nation
    That is known for compassion.
    Now there is a reversion
    Everywhere there is indignation."

I have read articles about India becoming more "westernized" and capitalistically consumer oriented.

To lose the compassion would be a travesty! Compassion is one of the most admiral attributes expressed through India's primary religion, Hinduism. I have a little trouble with the caste system though, but that has changed. Actually, I am more of a Hindu myself than any other religion. I love and honor Ganapati. He is my Friend and He is always there for me! Ganapati has guided and helped me so much these past few years...

I think that your entire poem is well-done and I really like the words that you chose to express yourself. The ending stanza is eloquently stated!

"There is no room for relation
    As humans lack compunction.
    We need renovation
    Our minds need purgation.
    This is the only solution
    To regain our reputation."

    Excellently stated! Great vocabulary...
