The Enslaved Prince

There once was a kingdom of men
For one hundred years, teaching princes
To be kings in the end.

In this kingdom lived seven brothers
Born with a future they'd rather not face
They keep close to each other
Whatever is the case

One of these boys
He hated his life
And hated the king
For stealing his life

The king stole his life,
His future, and his soul
Making him a little soldier
Having no thoughts that are his own

Then in flew a mage
Come to teach the princes
Showing them they are their own beings
And they can break away from their bonds

The poor prince smiled
He saw his chance
To try and break free
To laugh, play, maybe even dance.

He thought he was free
His brothers saw he was happy
But then came the king

He was all in a rage
And put the prince in his cage
Told him he was threw

As if that's new

But the prince broke free
With the mage's help
To dance one more time
So everyone could see him

The king found him again
Took him from the mage
Back in the cage
Hidden this time

The prince cried
He couldn't get out
Wherever he looked
Bars

No way out
Forever his slave
No!!

He knows he'll never be free
Never have his life
So he did what was left to do

End it

The brothers all grieved
For the loss of the prince
And the mage was cast out
Never to come back

The kingdom blamed the mage
One prince did as well
Another was exhiled
Damned by his brother to hell

The mage did not cry
When forced to leave
Because he saw the princes now
Stand tall as kings

The enslaved prince
Set his soul free
Passing his song to his brothers
Which echoed in their minds

"Remember my name,
Remember my dreams,
Remember my dance
And pass the story
To the next."
