Tears from Heaven

Anxious eyes peer down.

Fair Angel views direful scenes of Earth
Astonished by ignorant mirth
From all those wasted souls that lost
A sense of once inherent worth.

Tragedy unfolds 'fore sincere eyes
Her ears embittered by passionate lies
Hands secure in solemn prayer pose
For salvation besides mankind's demise.

Shadows shroud man's future bleak
Veiling righteousness, craven and meek
Angel bows her lovely head
Forcefully brushing tears from her cheek

Ripe Garden of Eden left solitary
Now lacking sweet elixir and berries
A stagnant stretch of industry
Devoid of extinct magic and fairies

Hope lies deep with sunken Atlantis
Frail iridescent wings of praying mantis
Hidden treasure, not forever unredeemed
So long as love is practiced

Bitter divinations begin to transform
Like Angel's features once forlorn
Demure smile upheaves the gloom
Her rosiness tints the world warm

Unite the earth for one last try
To dam the Angel's need to cry
An all inclusive brotherhood
Our peace assures eyes remain dry.

Author notes

To the ChildeofChaos: I had a difficult time separting "Tears from Heaven" and the angel from religion, and I hope that the reference to the Garden of Eden doesn't throw you off too much.

This was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much for such a wonderful write. I truly enjoyed every line. As for your note, I understand having trouble separating religion from the angel pic and the heaven reference. This was perfectly done. I simply did not want to be preached at. Anything vague reference to God or any higher being would have been acceptable to me, as I do believe there is a God. I think the Garden of Eden reference in your poem only served to add to it and make it more amazing. Again, thank you for an amazing entry!
