January

It's the things that make you happy and sad at the same time:
A secret between lovers,
The undiluted laughter of mute children at play,
Memories of an ex.

It's the way her sweet-scented hair cascaded like molten sunlight
On your shoulder when you held each other.
It's the way her lips melted when yours touched them,
And the way they hardened when they were released.
It was in her eyes when she told you she loved you.
It was in her voice when she told you she didn't.

It's in the full moon that exposes you, naked to the world,
The sole, solitary sufferer in a twilight of lovers.
It's in the sun that cannot penetrate your frozen heart.
It's the silent approval from everyone at the beginning of a relationship,
It's the vociferous disapproval at the end.

It's the tunnel, and the light at the end.
It makes you cry and it makes you laugh:
It's the tears, and the laughter.

    Beautifully written.

Bittersweet is also how I descriibe your poem "January." That title really suits the comparisons you make to memories of an ex, ended relationships, lies, and secrets. I didn't quite understand the reference to the "undiluted laughter of mute children," but it seems to fit the paradox of human emotion. "It's the way her sweet-scented hair cascaded like molten sunlight" is breath-takingly descriptive and makes me think, in paradox, of frozen waterfalls in winter, if there is such a thing. This poems convicts the reader by his own emotions. I want to read more!

This is the best part i think.. i kept going back to it! You have a way with words G! words that chip away at the ice around my heart, words that melt me like butter with just one glance! i havent found any untruthfulness in anything that you have written. its always shocking sometimes to see how blunt you can be but you make it sound so sweet.k... moving on to the next

I love the images here, utterly yummy (because I cannot find another word that works like that). "Don't worry, I think you're beautiful."
