Let me lay myself down by your feet
as vulnerable as you will have me
Naked for your eyes to see anything
Everything others never seem to see
Let me be beautiful in your eyes
and I promise nothing else will matter
And I will lose myself in your judgement
pridelessly my soul will lie scattered
I am begging you to look at me
To embrace me with your strength and love
I can not carry myself any further
but your generosity will be more than enough
Let me lay myself down by your feet
and let me look at you as if at a God
So that when I disarm you with my vulnerability
for just once I am divinely blessed instead of odd

I really like this piece. I thought it flowed well and told a beautiful, yet almost tragic story. That vunerable side that we all posess can be damaging if treated the wrong way, and I felt you explored the theme very well. I liked the repetition that flowed through the stanza's of "Let me" because that emphasised how the control wasn't yours, and that permission had to be asked.

I can see how this poem is close to your heart. We all have a vulnerable side to us. No matter how strong we are, how strong we try to look... we all have moments when we have to let our guards down and need someone to save us. I hope this poem was inspired by that someone for you, whoever that is. I think it's lovely that you are not afraid to admit that you are vulnerable and do need other people's approval sometimes and aren't all just one thing which is strong. Nobody is just strong. We all have weak spots. And though it hurts when they are exposed, it can also be releasing especially if that someone does come to you and help you.

Beautifully written, I really like it. The words seemed to jump off the page into feelings and images
