Sun Filled Days

wake up to the singing of the birds of spring
the sun shining in, warming my face
filling me with a warmth like no other
as i watch the trees outsde sway with grace

i go outside and spin around
the golden rays of sun on my skin so warm
shining through the leaves of the trees
causing a golden feeling inside me to form

run to the the middle of a field
collapse with a content sigh into the soft grass
basking in the sunlight
as the day begins to pass

later in the day
the warm feeling begins to leave my skin
it's sadly getting darker
this battle for the sky the moon will soon win

i go to sleep that night
dreaming of the rays of tomorrow
waiting in anticipation
of the sun-filled days to follow

    thank you for entering!

Nice build up of imagery (and a great background to boot!) I especially like the last stanza. In some places the rhyme scheme feels a little weird...try reading it out loud and you'll know what I mean. All in all, a pleasant read. Well done.
