An Affirmation of Love

You are who You are my God
And mere words cannot convey,
How very grateful that I am
To serve You every day.

You are the air that I breathe
So very deeply into my lungs,
You are the song in my heart
That makes me feel young.

You are beauty abounding
In the midnight moon’s glow,
You are the true wellspring
From whence all life flows.

Who am I my Heavenly Father
That You would willfully give,
The life of Your beloved son
That I, a sinner may live?

When I was lost in transgression
You offered me Your hand
And like a perfect loving Father;
You helped me to understand.

I only now fully realize that
The kind of love You show,
Is beyond my comprehension;
It is deeper than I will ever know.

Author notes

It is His unconditional love that saved me, a sinner, from eternal darkness. I am amazed by His providence and guidance in my life today, and will be ever grateful.

    A beautiiful poem to our Heavenly Father! I love the flow of your poem, you rhymed very well! And I love the message your words portray!

    I will point out one thing, though. I'm usually very picky about this, so please don't be offended, it's just how I feel it should be. When you refer to God in any form of name, whether it be Jesus, Holy Ghost, Father, Him, You, ect.... I feel it should always be capitilized to show respect.
    Just my take on it!

    I loved your poem. Thank you so much for entering!

    Blessings to you!
