Accessories
Faded Khaki cargo shorts
Hooded sweatshirts for daily wear
Running shoes suited for sports
Cost less than a hundred a pair
Boisterous voices through the street
Spend thousands just to look hard
I can’t be tough, I’m far too cheap
Even though my knuckles are scarred
Tattoos and grills, plus 20 inch rims
And a lot that’s just for show
My combat boots might pass for Tims
A lot about me they don’t know
A diamond stud in their earlobe
Gold teeth won’t hide a swollen lip
My European Wardrobe?
The Belgian pistol on my hip.

I really like your description of the contemporery material world, with the khaki pants, the 20 inch rims, diamond studs and all that. I also like the rhyme scheme, it fits with the poem really well. Thank you for entering and good luck to you.

DUDE!!!
now you see I do understand. Yes I am an old witch, but it was just the same in my day and it is exactly the same for my kids. I went to a rough school, but I was a pussycat, so whatca do........play the game as best you can.
Brilliant piece, well written. Makes you knod your head and tut at the same time, evokes something in all of us...

Intriguing write. I can't claim to understand street jargon, but from what I understand, it's a good write!
