me-first freedom

I tap on the window of the car
frosted and glassy,
thinking about our society.
"I hate you mom, you know that?"
And she stares into the fogged rearview mirror,
and slowly turns the car into our driveway,
cutting off a mini van filled with
hungry children.

Because we're living in this new type
of society, a society that values a brand
new freedom.
Me-First Freedom.

And in this freedom, everyone crowds
around the mirror like fairy princesses waving
their lipgloss wands as far as thy eye can see.
But there's no kingdom, no subjects, just
degenerate ragdoll wasteland.
And the erotically charged media blows the minds
of our freedom, giving us no choice, but to
swallow our escalating dis-ease.

And as billboards flash, this freedom gives you
a brand new vision of a sparkly iWorld with
"your imagination, your style, your gap" when
really the gap isn't a style its a fad.
a gap between people, between levels and classes
of freedom.
This is our society.

Please tell me what you think

Yeah society is getting lamer by the minute. I like this piece, the beginning seemed realistic then it got more into opinions and ideas. It has that superficial look concept that our society's hooked up on and the technology aspect as well ... among others of course. I love reading pieces like this.
