Emergence

This plant is like no other –
Neither a rose, daisy nor a tulip
It is a beauty though, like any flower.
The seeds were planted long ago,
Deep inside a mound – a life grows.
Nourished by its mother Earth,
It hopes for that eventful day;
When it blossoms from its tiny hole
For all to behold:
Blinded by the light,
It enters this curious world.
Crying with such a might,
A sight, truly ought to be told.
Squealing along with the surrounding symphony
It stems squirms in endless cycling.
Flourishing for everyone’s delight
It creates excited anticipation for this very moment
This lasted what felt like a lifetime.
All those who are near by,
Can’t help but smile and shed a tear
For the mother and its child:
A life which she holds dear

Please tell me what you think
