It locks me in
my flesh,
no one can enter
and no one can leave.
Alone
I am left to grieve
until I retrieve the key
to the world above.
Back to a world filled
with love.

Very vivd imagery. Very intriguing title, I admit this is what drew me in!
I like the imagery of being hemmed in your own world, and needing a key to assimilate back into the outside world that is filled with copanionship and love.
I honestly feel this emotion daily - perhaps poetry is the key to interacting with others yet maintaining our own sense of expression and uniqueness? Perhaps. Let me know what you think
I also love the "no one can leave, no one can enter" - this is really what it comes down it doesn't it? I hope you find your key soon
Best of luck with your poetry. -
I liked the first two lines very much, the "flesh" image was quite vivid and gripping. I thought you used the image quite well. Thanks for entering.
