snowflakes obscuring the pattern
fractured light playing on marble floors and the stone dias
but it means nothing
the long night keeps me moving
here in this sanctuary
this place of refuge
outside the raging wind can no longer pull at me
force me to struggle through again
its been a long road
but i have made my way to here
and now i see
that i can make it
i can make it through
i've got faith
that i can make it through
i turn my eyes back to the empty sanctuary
my sanctuary
of stained glass and sculpture
crucifixes and cassocks
the weeping eyes of a man on a tree
the silent walls of stone
and me alone in it
candlelight flickers off the walls and i realize
in this moment
i could fly
Author notes
this poem is kind of the fusion of a couple themesongs.
the main song is "where my heart will take me (faith of the heart)" by russell watson; it's the theme from star trek enterprise.
http://www.startreksoundtracks.com/lyrics/sts-lyrics-wheremyheart.html
the second is "sanctuary" by utada hikaru; the theme from the video game kingdom hearts 2.
