Young dead poets

We acolytes of the word,
aspiring to work verse,
beating the hot metal of it
to desired shape and texture,
assemble in metaphysical park,
on this cyberian crossroads.

We shed one identity
for another at a few ticks & tacks.
we engage each other to soothe
the aches of angst & ennui.

      Thanks DogFish and AJ Morelli

      Appreciate the compliment and welcome.

I was feeling rather "down" this weekend, so yeah, thanks.

Interesting used words to make a picture of feelings, not only to write a single poem. You are right, most of people just want to run away from their nature and identity many different ways. Short and pretty strong. Good luck.
Thanks for adding me as your favorites and welcome to AP site.

      Thanks, Sonja,

Ten lines was my shot, so I took it.

      Appreciate the kudos.

      Thank you Pamela,

this experience goes to show that even a poet having an off day, experiencing a slight hangover, struggling with depression and other issues can produce something that raises a smile, or grabs your attention.

      Thanks for your kind words.
