It was around midnight
that I lay in the bed
in that fuzzy state
half between awake and a dream
The last few days had been exhausting
with all the trips to the hospital
to visit my mother
who lie dying from liver cancer.
Suddenly, I felt an intense pain
where my liver was located,
waking me completely, or so I thought.
Then before me, my mother appeared, oh so briefly,
dressed like an angel,
I heard no sound, but sensed her saying good bye.
Looking over at the clock it read 12:30,
thinking it some weird dream I went back to sleep.
An hour later, my step father and brother
knocked on my door.
They told me my mother had died
at 12:30.

Actually my grandfather lived in another state he died shortly after midnight, and I was the only one who saw him before we got the phone call from my grandmother. I had already gotten my mother up, ten minutes later it was verified. Weriod! Good luck in your contest. ~Sie
