Myriads of Angels filled the skies
Like great flocks of migrating birds,
Then came a sight never seen by earthly eyes
As well, a sound no mortal has ever heard.
For the Heavenly hosts parted their numbers
And proclaiming with Angelic cries,
“Hosanna in the highest to the Lord of hosts!”
Then came the awesome parting of the sky!
Every fiber of my soul shook with a resonance
That only God himself could shake,
Then came the rumbling of the ground below
As it started to reel and quake.
The air was thick with a power and energy
The likes of which I have never seen
And the clouds began to roll as if drawn by a vacuum,
Now shining with an effervescing sheen.
Then came a brilliant light fervent and enthralling
That I had read about in Biblical stories,
It was the miraculous radiance I have longed to see,
It was the Shekinah glory!
My body immediately fell prostrate to the ground
And I wept like never before,
For I knew what was happening; it was my Lord returning
Triumphantly stepping through Heavens door.

A beautiful and glorious poem. You have brought to life what will be a glorious day. Something the children of God should be longing for weather we see Him coming, or we are coming with Him. Thank you for the reflection and vision. Was well deserved to have a higher honor in the contest.

An amen to a longing for the shekinah glory. A solid write with good rhythm and rhyme. Thank you for sharing and entering my contest.

Nice use of language: good storytelling
The problem is this has not happened, so it can't be a personal spiritual experience. Hmm, but I suppose your waiting for this grand day is a spiritual expectation/experience. So okay: thanks for entering the contest: Dave -

Wow absolutely awesome. I have never gotten into Daniel much. (I admit, prophecy scares me, I'm afraid I won't understand it) But that is a beautiful verse And I LOVE what you did with it. The poem made me want to keep reading it not just because it was interesting but becauise the way it SOUNDS appealed to the reader. It just sounds good to read haha. I know that makes no sense, but don't worry, it's a compliment.
This is truly a beautiful moment for all believers to look forward too and you created a poem that describes that glory with such suspense and enthusiasm. I loved it. The last verse is totally awesome, it sums everything up and makes me want to cheer! I teared up just thinking about it. I loved it! Thank you so much for entering!
