Song of Memory

I'm calling you today

just to hear your voice

to know your okay.

It's been so long

I wait and listen

just to hear our song.

You remember it~

don't you?

You know the one

you sent me~

oh, so long ago.

I sit here looking

out the window,

Wondering how

you're doing.

I wish I knew.

Each time

I hear our song,

I find it gives me

Hope to hold onto.

I feel you could have written a very strong, emotional poem, by using metaphors and great imagery. Here you tell us about still loving someone. IT is more like a wish. You still have time to edit, and find words that mean the same thing, but are metaphors. Best wishes.

Nice write. It gives the sense of a lover barely holding on to her mate when he almost obviously has moved on. But those all-powerful memories of things as simple as a song can cement even the most fickle of humans into a hopeless pining.

SHORT, SIMPLE, and SWEET and filled with love and longing!

    I sit here looking
    out the window,

    Wondering how
    you're doing.

    I wish I knew.

    Each time
    I hear our song,

    I find it gives me
    Hope to hold onto.

I've felt this before and i still do nearly 30 years later for my first love that I let get away. I often wonder what would have happened and become of our love if she would have stayed - and till this very day - I often reminisce on her sweet kiss and on how I cried and missed her when she went away. I often look out of my window, up into the stars in the sky, or across the ocean into the great divide - and wonder if she's happy or even still alive! I hope and pray that wherever she is - she is happy and knows I wish her well.
    Peace & Love!
    Earl.

I like the way that the first two stanzas had some rhyme (intentional or not) and the rest of them are just so bold in their own way. All of it is just great, you know how much I love your work.

The power of music. I think we can all relate someone or something in our life to the tone of certain songs. It seems to help our memories of happy times as well as sad and even then touches us in such a powerful way it is life long. Love this write.

    Love ya
