brothers, sprung from two wombs
but I am your one father, still
to any shadow may you tread
beaneath sun or within heart
but still, my sons will you be
my patience waits for your joined hands
may it please you, over the grave of your disputes
my sons, my children
your vehemance for the kingdom
Author notes
god, as it were, seems to have more of my thoughts than his own. but that's the price of having me write this.
i'm not a very religious person... at all. but we've been discussing the differences and similarities bewteen the origins and idiologies of chrisianity, islam, and judaism. and it depresses me beyond reason. so, i wrote this during class today. certainly not my best work, merely thoughts.

???
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at all. I actually am a religous person so if you were hoping to sadden me with this you didn't choose the right topic.
Hmmm.
Great job!

It seems you have the same streak of religious conviction as myself - None.
This piece almost spits out the words with disgust for the brain washers of this world.
The similarities of each and every religion is fine by me until one country erupts over another and a holy war is created from two separate religions, of which the only difference is the path their deity went down instead of the others path.
I can relate to that depressive feeling. -

that's pretty much it. group A looks at group B and decides to wage a holy war on them because their version of god calls one man a prophet of the lord and it's not the same as their prophet. it's so stupid. and all of their books preach charity and good will toward men. do they just tear out that page when their loading their automatic weapons?
sorry. depressive topics.
how are you? -

*do they just tear out that page when their loading their automatic weapons?*
Ha, so damningly true and I find it preposterous.
Do you find also the many contradictions to the commandments / rules / laws of religion when they, as you say, promote good will to all men, unless you don't fit the stereotype of the said religion specifically? It spins my mind, and I have to say I am very glad to have made my own road to walk down.

i felt sad when i was reading this. i had an image of mother nature giving birth to plants and animals and their shadows being trampled on.. "my sons you will be" sounded angry in the poem

nah, its good though. but i think the sentiment in this is very real and very deep. and its something that people need to read.
