FRIENDS OF LIBERTY!!!
the orwell act has been
confirmed.
democracy insures the
destruction
of our Republic.
corporations and special
interests control our
government.
we the people
have become proles.
no longer free.
citizens of a police state.
they cant read our
thoughts
yet, but they can
our mail,
our calls,
our books
Greece,
Rome.
America.
two dead democracies.
one to go.

"they cant read our
thoughts
yet"
yes - the important word here is "yet"
Oh, it's so depressing, my friends told me to stop reading books like "1984" but I can't help it... Looking at the world today, you've got to realize that authors like Orwell were right about most things they predicted, it's kind of scary...
I love how you connect the book with today's reality in this poem. I love the ending, such an unusual but very true thought, I think.
Thank you for entering my contest and thanks for being so patient.
Keep on writing!
Annie

I think.
In so many ways our privacy and rights went out the window before the early nineties hit. I am not sure if America's is dead yet but certainly on life support. An interesting view. I am glad that you can still say what you feel and write it.
