And thus she writes with artistry.
She makes the layman understand;
The poet has the Muse's hand.
She cannot follow what she planned,
Or else she'll loose her infancy.
The poet has the Muse's hand,
And thus she writes with artistry.
She springs from bed and wakes with glee,
To write, with speed, a new duet.
Her words, dead on, hit tone and key;
She springs from bed and wakes with glee.
And through her words, she will be free;
She will, of worldly chores, forget.
She springs from bed and wakes with glee,
To write, with speed-- a new duet!
Author notes
So a few people have commented (yay) about the whole springing from bed and waking with glee thing... doesn't anyone ever just doze off, then think of a theme for a poem or something, then just have to wright it down? I do that all the time, and trust me, I am *not* a morning person. In fact, this doesn't happen in the morning-- it happens at night. Yup.

Yeah, I do do that all the time. I'll practically be asleep when something will come to me and since I've learned the hard way that I don't always remember things in the morning, I automatically leap from the bed.
Nicely done.

Bravo
Exceptional! Absolutely exceptional! Perhaps the finest pair of triolets that I have seen on AP. You are a past master of the form! Bravo...bravo...Bravo!!!

This poem really touched my poetic heart. As a writer who goes to bed thinking poetry and hoping I remember my thoughts the next morning you quite captured me.
Well written triolets.
Thanks for entering.

Springing from bed with glee is absolutely great, wish that I could do that. It is kinda hard, I am not really a morning person. I like the energy that you give off in this piece, I really enjoyed reading it and much luck to you in the contest

Love the thought...the speaker is much more energetic than I am though...I never spring from my bed with glee...but I can identify with the joy that comes from writing.

Very well written. You got the triolets bang on and really discribed the poets hand well.
(Not sure about the double use of "free" as a rhyme.)
Might just be me.
