Mother

As a child,
I saw her as "Mommy."
Bringer of life and joy,
Bringer of fun and toys.
Soother of sorrow and pain,
As she kissed the hurt away.

As a teen,
I saw her as "Mom."
Setter of rules,
Setter of boundaries.
Fountain of wisdom and strength,
As I struggled with myself.

Now an adult,
She is still "Mom."
I realize, she has her own troubles,
Problems that I do not know.
But, she was always there for me,
A favor I plan to return.
I am here for you Mom.
Always and Forever,
Love, Me.

I love the way you've dedicated this poem to your mom.
I believe every mom should get the honor for all the things she has done for us. You've portrayed your love for her in a wonderful way!

I liked this piece, very excellent. It also made me have the song Mother by Danzig stuck in my head, which is also a good thing, because I like that song and I haven't heard it in forever. Anyways, getting off track. I loved the free verse and the continued theme of how your relationship with your mother evolved. Good job.

I love this poem. I wish that I could still be a child. I wish that I didn't know the problems that my mother faces and the sorrow she has in her life. But I love her and I will do my best for her, every day of my life.
