When I lead them to the room on the top of the floor
To give previews of time and days
We waved at each other by the stairwell’s end
And I hello’d the strangers ahead
When I walked with them to the room
And they followed me inside
We made it seem to them that everyone knew
Each other, and gave greetings to all
And they smile at me in their seats, wondering
If here, the idea is extinct
Of girls who sit alone by desks and chairs
To widdle away weekend nights
While others hop trains to adventure
Author notes
An exaggeration, obviously, but yeah...just about lonliness when you feel you shouldn't be.
Little explanation: I was a tour guide for my college for a day -- you can take it from there.
*NB* It's in the process of revision.
Please tell me what you think

i grasp the intention but had you not said a college i would have thought a nursing home.it wasn't a bad effort but i think you need to work on the imagery a tad.
