She’s standing in the shadows of her demons,
Escaping from the one she’s grown to hate.
Living in the fear of going under,
Hiding from the death that is her fate.
They’ve left her there to fade alone,
The darkness peeking through;
No one knows or feels her pain;
Her life shall soon be through.
She’s like a lost and lonely bird
Locked up for you to see;
Places that her wings can soar,
No one knows but me.
High school’s been her biggest pain,
They’ve cut her heart to shreds;
They’re the reasons why her livers
Eaten by the meds.
The tiny parcels swimming in her stomach
Tear her down;
Can’t you see that she’s not breathing?
Don’t you see she wears a frown?
They think they’re cool
And have it all;
They live the perfect dream.
But they have problems too;
They only admit to what they seem.
I wish they knew that what they’ve done
Has taken life away;
But they don’t see that loneliness
Is brought from what they say.
But maybe one day they’ll read this
And they’ll know it in themselves,
So they’ll rip their hearts out, bleeding,
And display them on our shelves.
Escaping from the one she’s grown to hate.
Living in the fear of going under,
Hiding from the death that is her fate.
They’ve left her there to fade alone,
The darkness peeking through;
No one knows or feels her pain;

OOoo
Powerful write. Love the harsh emotion. Good poem. -
wow this is dark, and I'm gathering that you don't like high school too much....but who did?
I like the words you have chosen to use in this one and I think this is the best of your writes so far that I have read. You've written and put it together well, and it shows a lot of emotion and anguish. Well done hun.
Keep it up.
