Poetry

There is a streak of poetry in my vein
Just as there is poetry in the air
And there is poetry in the rain
There is poetry in the first smile of dawn
And poetry in the soft rays of the moon
There is poetry in a blade of grass
And poetry in the balmy evening breeze,
There is poetry riding on the roaring blue-green waves
And poetry whispering in dark mountain caves
There is poetry in the smile of a child
Just as there is poetry in the deep green wild
Poetry is music and music is magic …..

How right you are. For a poet, there is poetry everywhere; think they can write a poem about nearly everything. Makes sense to me!

    bravo

A very lovely and pithy poem, indeed! finely done, and so very heartfelt! "poetry in a blade of grass"! this made me think of Walt Whittman and his "Leaves of Grass", a book of his poems which you can find in paperback....bravo

Poetry seems to be out life line on this site so this is a good one to share with others about what we write. Do think that all that repetition of poetry isn't necessaty, but each of us will think differently about other's writes. If it suits you, that is the main thing. Thanks for commenting on my poetry this morning.

There is poetry in the smile of a child

and magic is manifested in your words.

I having an idea of a poem similar to yours was overwhelmed by your near-interpetation.

I was going to sense and elaborate the momment where every little insecurities and impurties of us -humans..for me as a human, become all complete, riding on melodies of things that we learn and no longer see, or things we want and can no more get, or both...!!

It's complicated, I'm not even sure I described it right

I am hoping that in poetry I can write the pieces of my soul that lingers in the areas where us in our daily ives can never begin to encounter.

You gave me an extra-inspiration...(if there's such a thing).

If you'd like, I'd send you the link when I put it on AP sometime soon.

Be well, you write from the heart of both you and the reader, and that is one of the most important features that a good poet has to have.

    RD.

i thought the repetition of poetry was a bit redundant. since it's in the title, it can be omitted from the body of the poem
