Keep an Eye Out, I'll be on the Ground

I'll walk on the beach
I'll walk through the sand
But my feet don't hurt
And now I understand

The causes of my sadness
Are much clearer to me now
I'll control my remaining time
I'll decide how much to allow

I'll put my heart in my hand
I'll put its emptiness on display
I'll look to the horizon
And I'll count down the days

My heart's an empty vessel
Weathering harsh conditions
I'll observe from a distance
And I'll have only one ambition

So when I see the girl
Lost, fumbling her feelings
She can set them inside
And we'll dictate the meaning

I'll sing sad songs
And I'll think about that day
I'll search for something real
And I'll try to ignore my decay

I'll listen very carefully
And I'll hear whispers recite
I'll know they are lying
They say it's going to be alright

Author notes

This poem is pretty much about my biggest fear.
