Echoing in the black abyss
There is a scream you cannot miss
Reminding you of all your pain
Taking all your concentration to stay sane
Can you escape something that isn't there?
Will you be engulfed in despair?
Will you be able to find the light?
Will you be blinded by the sight?
A haunting whisper caresess your ear
As you sense the end is near
Feeling numbed by years of exposure
Will you be trapped in the enclosure?
Calling out one last time
Trying to atone for some crime
Suddenly you wake up in a sweat
And realize there is nothing to fret
Author notes
I am 17 years old and this poem is about the nightmares people get when they do something they later regret (hey, that rhymed... and I wasn't even trying!).
