I skimmed through this and thought - damn that is alot of vitriol. I re-read it and the previous comments. I think I can agree with most of it. It is a great write.
When I tried to post this contest, the AP site and my crappy connection gave me grief. I had not planned on allowing pre-writes. This is good. I am glad you got it in before I edited the contest.

Why is it that other countrymen of the world can see and know their government is bad news, but in our country we seem to flock towards it knowing it has skinned us already and are about to pursue the cooking pot for an encore. Is idiocy in picking the best of the worst a US trait? What happen to "of the people"? A divided country as ours has been in the last three elections as I see it, is an invitation to a two class country! Sorry I got carried away here! Don
